Our sustainability journey started many years ago as the conservation of Hedsor House’s Grade II listed grounds has been at the forefront of the Shephard family’s work. We continue to embody the ethos of our sustainably-minded director, Alexander Shephard, throughout our business and our weddings.
Over the last 30 years, 2,500 trees have been planted across the estate. These include important specimen Oaks, Wellingtonias, Beeches and Cedars of Lebanon. Many areas of the estate are left for rewilding, providing a rich habitat for wildlife and flora and fauna.
We have our wonderful Highland cattle onsite (nature’s lawnmowers!), plus honey bees who can work to pollinate and promote a biodiverse ecosystem on our estate.
Like many others we have made significant changes in the house and our office to ensure we are reducing our waste and working as sustainably as possible. And we have recently invested in solar panels and electric car charging points.
