+ Access to the house
Current access times are from 10.30am until midnight with a possible 1am extension on Fridays and Saturdays for an additional cost.
The house must be left empty at the end of the night ready for the cleaners to come in. All of our preferred caterers and suppliers are fully aware of their access times.
Hedsor House does not have disabled toilets or designated disabled access. If you have disabled guests please do contact the team.
Coaches, double decker buses and large lorries can get up the drive. Great care must be taken not to strike the front gates.
When you have decided on Hedsor House as the venue for your perfect wedding ceremony, the first thing you need to do is organise your ceremony. If you wish to have a civil ceremony at Hedsor House, you will need to book a registrar. To do this, you simply need to book your civil ceremony direct with Beaconsfield Old Town Registration Office. Take a look at their website: www.buckscc.gov.uk/registration, telephone them on 01494 475092, or email: [email protected].
They will send you a full information pack with all of the details you need. Once this is sorted, then you can get on with the really fun part: organising your perfect country house wedding!
Important note: If you are planning a religious and civil ceremony on the same day, please note the civil ceremony must take place BEFORE the religious ceremony. If this is not possible, the ceremonies must take place in two separate rooms.
If you wish to explore the option for getting married at St Nicholas’ Church (300m from Hedsor House), permission to marry in the Church is subject to the Rector’s agreement. Further information can be found at www.parishesofhedsorandbourneend.co.uk. + Inside the house
Our variety of rooms and gardens are what makes Hedsor such a flexible wedding venue, as they will allow you to make your wedding truly unique. There are 5 main rooms to choose from, all of which can be used for wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, dining or standing buffets, with capacities ranging from 30 for dining in The Boudoir, to 200 for a standing buffet in the Ballroom. Hedsor House has some general furniture within the house as well as banqueting furniture for up to 200 which is included in the hire price. Hedsor House can recommend suppliers for additional furniture if required.
Smoking (including ecigarettes) is strictly not allowed in the house itself.
If you are having dancing you are required to put down a dance floor. Hedsor House can recommend one of its production partners to supply this.
We do allow candles on site; however the flame must be contained within a tall holder i.e. a lantern or hurricane glass. We do also allow candelabras on the dining tables. However these must be sturdy holders and non-drip candles. We do not allow incense or oil burners inside of the house. Real candles / naked flames cannot be placed directly on carpeted surfaces anywhere in the house.
We would like to keep our beautiful house and grounds in their current condition and for this reason we do not allow any confetti or petals within the venue.
We do not allow water-based smoke/haze machines in the house as they set off our alarms.
+ Food & Beverages
Hedsor House does not have in-house catering facilities but does have 22 approved caterers who can cater for all needs. Unfortunately we do not allow external caterers who are not on this list at our venue.
You are required to buy wine, Champagne, sparkling wine, Port and bottled water from the Hedsor House Wine List. If you need further information on wine and Champagne, we are able to put you in touch with our in house wine experts so you can find the perfect wine for your food. The wine order will be taken from you 4-6 weeks before your wedding/event. Any full, un-opened cases of wine can be taken back and refunded by Hedsor House after your wedding or event. Any additional beverages, i.e. beer, spirits and soft drinks you are able to bring in yourself or arrange with your caterer. You must order still and sparkling water from Hedsor House at the cost of £2 per person for unlimited amounts throughout your wedding or event.
If having the Bluebell packge wedding please note that Caper & Berry are only able to accomodate menu tastings on Tuesdays or Wednesdays between 12-4pm.
+ Event Management
Events are run by an array of production companies, agencies and caterers of your choice. Most exclusive hires such as weddings will be run by your chosen caterer from our preferred list. Hedsor House does not supply general event staff, however we have a Duty Manager on duty at all times. The Duty Manager does not get involved in running your event or wedding but does oversee things from a house perspective.
+ In The Grounds
Hedsor House has 100 car parking spaces as well as an overflow car park for 50 cars if needed. We contract that cars are not allowed to be left overnight, however we can be flexible on this. If there is an event the following day then all cars must be removed by 10.00am. If there is no event the following day then we are more flexible; please ask a member of the team.
Smoking is not allowed in the house itself, but is allowed in specific areas of the grounds. There are terracotta pots at the bottom of each set of steps for ashtrays.
You can have fireworks on the grounds at Hedsor House however fees do apply. You must use Pyromania Displays as they are the only fireworks supplier we allow on our grounds. All firework displays must be set off by 22:30.
We ask you to use our preferred marquee suppliers and recommend that you use our own preferred suppliers for everything else. These suppliers know the venue and the relationships we have built means that our events run like clockwork.
Due to the livestock we have within the grounds of Hedsor House, we do not allow any Chinese lanterns or Balloon releases.

+ Wedding Accommodation
Hedsor House provides perfect wedding accommodation for you and up to twenty of your closest guests, with our beautiful Bridal Suite and ten guest bedrooms. Bedrooms are included in all bookings from 2018. To read more about our beautiful bedrooms, please click here.
+ Charges and Payment
Hedsor House is an exclusive hire venue which allows you to create your perfect day on a bespoke basis. Please read more in Prices & Packages, or better yet contact us to discuss hire charges as these vary according to days of the week & time of year. Off-peak times of the year and booking a package allow greater flexibility on prices to suit those on a budget at various time throughout the year.
We will only be able to hold a date once you have been in for a site visit. This date will then only be held for 7 days before we require a written confirmation. Once you have confirmed, we require a signed contract and a 50% deposit. Your final invoice and deposit invoice will be sent 6 weeks before.
Please note, full pre-payment must be made prior to your event.
A damage deposit of £1,000 is required 6 weeks before your country house wedding and is fully refundable after your wedding, as long as no damage has been made.
The hire fees include the house being contract cleaned before and after every wedding.
