20th February - On Saturday night, members of the British Olympic Rowing Team and British Olympic Kayak Team sought culinary glory in the kitchens of stunning Hedsor House, in a unique 'cook-off' fundraiser for Sport Relief, 'Hedsor's Kitchen'.

The Olympians swapped their Gold medals for goat's cheese and gratins with each team cooking a three course meal for 150 guests who experienced a treat as the athletes tested their culinary skills.

The Olympic Rowing team took the gold with a menu of 'Goat's cheese galette with olive tapanade and roasted tomatoes', followed by 'Pulled shoulder of lamb with creamed rosemary potatoes and market vegetables' and finally, 'Sticky toffee pudding with ginger cream'.

The Olympic community joined the unique occasion and enjoyed a superb auction with memorabilia from legends of their sport as well as unique training experiences with our Olympic hopefuls. The ' Female Beach Volleyball Olympic training session' was a popular lot causing quite a stir and raised over £1,000 alone.

Rower of Women's Eight Natasha Page said, “Everyone wanted to be involved in Hedsor's Kitchen for Sport Relief. Battling the kayakers in the kitchens will prepare us for the bigger battles on Eton Dorney Lake this summer! “

Mark Hunter MBE, World Champion and gold medal rower said, 'Winning the gold medal of 'Hedsor's Kitchen' for Sport Relief is a good sign of things to come for the Olympics!'

Rival Team Captain, and member of the Great British Men's Team, Andrew Daniels said, 'The heat of the kitchen of 'Hedsor's Kitchen' has warmed us up nicely for the heat of the summer Olympics.'

This worthy event was organised by Hedsor House, Party for the Podium and Melissa Webb Caterers.
